Rev. Carl F. Lewis, Sr. is a native of Baldwin, Louisiana.
He was baptized at age 7 and began preaching at age 15. He has been preaching for 32 years and has served as pastor for 30 years. He was catechized in May 1984 and has pastured the following churches:
Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Katy Plantation; Macedonia Baptist Church, Ashton, Louisiana; and East Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Beaumont Texas. In 2012, he was elected Pastor of Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Loreauville, Louisiana and Triumph Baptist Church of Franklin, Louisiana.
Pastor Lewis serves as a Christian Education Instructor on the Local, State, and National Level. He is a Certified Dean through the Sunday School Publishing Board of the National Baptist Convention, USA and has served as 2nd Vice President of the Baptist Ministerial Alliance of Beaumont, Texas. He has also attended Bishop College in Dallas, Texas and completed his studies at the Union Theological Seminary of New Orleans, Louisiana where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Comparative Religion. He was elected as the President of the Union Six District Congress of Christian Education. He recently graduated from the Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service in Houston, Texas.
